Our boys love sharing a room, but they also need time alone in their own space. They asked for privacy curtains to hang under their loft beds, but when I looked up some to purchase I was shocked at how pricey they could be!
I also have this bad habit of seeing things and thinking I can DIY them. More often then not, these attempts end up as something that could be featured with the hashtag #pinterestfail. This one however, actually worked so I thought I'd share with you all how I did it!
What you'll need:
-Bungee Cord- (I used 48" and it was slightly short. I also chose a bungee cord with carabiner hooks at the ends to avoid the possibility of snapping off.)
-flat twin sheet (or fabric of your choosing)
-iron
What to do:
1. Measure the distance from where you plan to attach the bungee cord to the floor and mark with a pencil, cut the excess fabric leaving about 6 inches past the pencil mark.
2. Lay the sheet out flat and roll out the hem tape about 5 inches below the pencil mark.
3. Fold the flap over and iron according to the instructions on the hem tape package.
4. Flip over the sheet and repeat the ironing on the opposite side.
5. String the bungee cord through the pocket left in the sheet, just like you would do with a curtain.
6. Wrap the ends of the bungee cord around the bedpost and attach it to itself.
7. Repeat on the opposite end of the bedpost.
The total cost was under $10 + the cost of the bed sheet which we already had.

Enjoy!
